Unsafe manufacturing might result from low-cost drugs

Medications intended to treat coughs, colds, and allergies are generally considered risk-free. The Food and Drug Administration, however, has recalled over five hundred of these medicines. The Food and Drug Administration cites untested safety and effectiveness in this recall. There is a trade-off in keeping prescription drugs' cost low. The safety cost of developing medications in emerging markets could make safety an even bigger concern.
