Last month in the Philosophy Warehouse group, comments on a post about philosophy grad program rankings got me thinking about how job placement records affect a program’s overall ranking, and if there are schools that aren’t highly ranked but have excellent job placement records and therefore are worth examining when applying for graduate program. For example, commenters felt that Purdue was under-ranked , “mainly because their placement record is so good.” I wondered if this was true of programs in other disciplines and compiled a list of the top ranking schools and their job placement records.
